PROJECTS

Welcome!!   Since starting writing and composing together in January 2018, we've been very busy!  Early in 2018 we released Fledgling Love which is an EP of six original songs of the romance genre.  We followed this with an album called Him Me And You.  This is an album of nine original classical music scores.

Whilst we were writing Him Me And You, we wrote a score called The Wedding.  It's a beautiful piece of music for a bride to walk down the aisle to.  We are delighted that this vision is coming true and The Wedding is being used for this very purpose!   To see a clip of Jodie who was our first bride to walk down the aisle to our music click on this link:   https://youtu.be/pPeRPDDlrxg.  So ... we have created a special album of five of the Him Me and You scores and one of the songs in Fledgling Love to create an album for bride and grooms called Your Wedding Day.  You can stream these but if you would like a CD as a memento of your day (we will add a bespoke inset with all your wedding day details on), please contact us - details are on our contact page.

At the end of May we released The Fox.  This is a song about a hungry fox who visits a woman each night for his supper.  But is he a fox? Does he exist?  It is a very deep song that will make you think!

Then ...... we made a film that depicts the bombing of the Drill Shed in HMS Pembroke in Chatham in 1917.  It details the events of 3rd September where many sailors who had been resting or sleeping in the Drill Shed that night, lost their lives when German bombs were dropped on the glass roof.   You can see the film about the bombing plus another film about health care provision in 1917 at the links below.   Dennis's music is featured on both of the films:

So ... as it was coming up to Christmas, like all singer/songwriters, our thoughts turned to making a Christmas song!  And that's what we did and it was called Santa's Grate Christmas.  We wanted the tradition of Christmas with a modern feel.  Poor Santa has eaten too much, drunk too much and is now stuck in a chimney - without wifi!  It's available on the usual streaming sites which are detailed under Our Songs.

After we recorded this song, we thought a video would be good to go with it.  So we got our friends together plus a very helpful dog called Luther and made the video!   You can watch it at:

https://youtu.be/m1JtOLF5nKU    :      In December, we played this song and Can I Dance for you on Bassed in Kent on KMTV.

Lastly, we made a song called Solitude. It's all about love - have a listen!

After a really busy 2018 we decided we'd like another busy year!   In April 2019 we recorded a song called Martha for Age UK Medway.  The song is about a lady who lives with dementia.  She has memories of her husband and her children which are filled with love.   Age UK Medway has adopted this song and sales of the CDs will go to fund their much needed resources.  We are very excited to be working the CEO John Norley and his fantastic team.

You can listen to this song at https://www.ageuk.org.uk/medway/about-us/news/articles/2019/martha/ or at https://www.ageuk.org.uk/medway/about-us/news/articles/2019/age-uk-medway-reveal-the-charitys-first-tovertafel-system/ where Martha is used as the backing to one of their videos.  The CD can be purchased from Age UK Medway by going to https://www.ageuk.org.uk/medway/.

On Saturday 18th May we attended the Spring Ball of the charity Making Miracles.  It is an amazing charity which provides free professional counselling and bereavement care to parents, families, siblings and grandparents in Kent who have lost a baby.  It is the only charity to provide these services to date.  We were so impressed with the work of the team that we worked with them and rewrote one of our original songs - Lighting the Way - and dedicated it to them.  It was formally launched at the Ball.  It is only available on CD which can be purchased from Making Miracles.  If you would like to buy one you will be giving much needed funding for those parents who need their skills and services.  Their website is www.makingmiracles.org.uk and you can purchase a CD directly from Sally Howells, 7 The Street, Detling, Maidstone, ME14 3JU.  Or call her on 07711611550.  Please make cheques payable to "Making Miracles" for the sum of £10.00 and include a stamped addressed envelope.

It's summer and time for another new single.  We created Hold You in My Arms which is an upbeat toe tapper.  For the sleeve artwork we enlisted the help of a few friends - one two-legged and one four-legged!   This single can be streamed/downloaded from the major streaming sites.   We hope you like it and that it gets you up dancing!

Our next project was something that is very dear to our hearts and that is the plight of lions in our world.  The numbers of lions is diminishing every year! The main cause of this is man - hunting and trapping.  Do you remember the killing of that beautiful lion Cecil?  Well, earlier this year a couple were pictured having killed a lion and they were proud of this!  There was rightful international outrage.  The story of Cecil had affected us deeply and we were in the process of writing a song about the lions.  So we carried on and wrote a soundtrack called  Our Lions' Eyes  which has now been released.  To hear it go to : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6-ZxMoGtXM.

After writing this powerful song, we decided to write a song about a relationship where one of the partners is controlling of the other - "Can't Have it All" Sadly the words may be recognised by some people - it's not a good place to be in.

In December 2019, inspired by watching a lot of James Bond films we created a track that tells the story of two agents running away from the villains and from their own organisation.  It tells of the mental torment that they go through but will never be free from.  We called it "Rise Again".

So now it's 2020 and time for a new set of songs!

Our first song of the year is "Our Rendezvous".    At the end of last year Sue found a poem sent and signed by her father the late Reginald Hall to her mother (the late Eileen Hall nee Thys) during World War Two.  It was called "Our Rendezvous".  He sent it whilst he was fighting for our country in the Middle East as a Sergeant in the 7th Armoured Division - known as the Desert Rats.  It is a beautiful poem which Dennis immediately put to music.  We released this and it can be streamed from all the major sites.  Then we put a video of photographs to the song which tells the story of their life during the war.  Eileen was a Private in the Auxiliary Territorial Service and attached to the Royal Corps of Signals.   You can view it here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIyzPZjUkws.

OUR RENDEZVOUS

And just as we were planning for our next projects, the Covid pandemic arrived in March 2020 and the world lost a few years coping with the consequences.  Like many other families we lost people close to us and if you did too, we send our hearts out to you.

But we came out the other side and during these two years we carried on writing but of course recording was impossible.

So at the beginning of 2022 we got into the studio again.

The first song we wrote was You Light Up My Life.  This song is about true love - what it feels like to love someone and be loved.

Our next song was Chatham Carnival Song.  On the 9th July Chatham held its first carnival for over 20 years.  It was to celebrate everything that is good in Medway in Chatham.  It was a great day with thousands of visitors.  We composed the carnival theme song and it was played throughout the day.  Dance schools choreographed performances to it.

Next came a song called Building Bridges.  In 2019 the Very Revd Philip Hesketh, Dean of Rochester, discussed with us making a song that gave a message of what Rochester Cathedral aims to do and that is to build bridges to the community.  We wrote the song but unfortunately just as we were about to have it played in the cathedral, Covid appeared.   So we kept it in our portfolio waiting for the right moment which came on the 4th August.  The Rochester Bridge Trust installed the world's longest interlocking model bridge in the cathedral for the public to enjoy.  There was a private viewing during which Building Bridges was sung by the fantastic MJPraise and Seasons Choir.  Thank you to Mayowa and the choir for doing such a great job.  This is Mayowa below with the choir.

We have just finished recording the song and it is now out on all the major streaming sites.

Here is the cover picture - the beautiful Rochester Castle and Rochester  Bridge.

We hope you like the song.

We'll be back soon with our next projects!

Well, where has the time gone?  We've been busy but not so much with music.

Last year we were involved in putting together a simulated emergency exercise on board HMS Cavalier in the Chatham Historic Dockyard.   As you may imagine, it took many months of planning.  We thought you might like to watch it:

It was a great success as you will see.  A lot of learning took place which was the aim.

So now it will soon be Christmas 2024.

Just a reminder to play Santa's Grate Christmas.  You can find it at all the major streaming sites.   Here's a reminder:
